Don't Mess With Texas!

After a delicious dinner from Whole Foods (think of Nosh on steroids), it was time for our first early night. As my eyelids started to droop, they shot back open with the realisation that we are in the country that has Tarantulas. I think that I was still a bit jumpy from being attacked by giant, man eating crickets. It took a lot of reassurance and some checking to make sure there were no moving black dots on the wall for me to calm down. All the while, Lars was snoring so loudly he could have woken up the neighbouring state! It took a shower and another free breakfast to remember that I was in America.

Before our departure for Houston, we had to stop by the Grassy Knoll. If you are not sure of what this I highly suggest looking it up, a very important place in American History. We drove past it, there were no car parks or conspiracy theorists ready to share their version, so we trucked on. We were pretty keen to get out at this stage.

Our three hour drive consisted of dancing to Ariana Grande, looking for water, finding water and finally cleaning our windscreen, following the signs and ending up on the old road that was right next to the highway, and being made to feel tiny with all the Dodge Rams about. Everything really is bigger in Texas!!!

Houston Galleria. After trudging through the traffic that would put LA to shame, we arrived at a giant Mall. 2.4 million square feet, 400 shops, 30 restaurants, 2 hotels, and an ice rink. Luckily for Lars, there was a husband seat outside many of the shops. Keeping luggage weight in mind, I think I did very well, he may beg to differ. My suggestion of energy food for a mall like this are pizza pretzel bites, so good for the soul.

Tonight we are staying out by the NASA Space Centre. It is right on the water, very nice to smell ocean air again. Especially because it reached 29*C today, might as well soak up all the vitamin D before we get to London. Tomorrow, we become astronauts.

To infinity and beyond!

Our V6... lots of grunt!

Just coming in to Houston... before hitting the traffic.

Sunset by the water outside our hotel.
