An Upgrade and an Interrogation.

So finally, after months of planning, and lets face it; a life time in the making, today was the day. We'll yesterday really, but I'm excluding the few hours of broken sleep on the plane, and cutting to the chase. Today we left New Zealand on our 'Big O.E'. A right of passage partaken by generations of Kiwi's. Growing up hearing tales of how Grandma left on a boat of Italians by herself, how Mum and Dad spent years hacking around in Europe, one could not help be inspired. I once described my itch for travel not so much as a small mosquito bite, but that disease that people get that makes them so uncomfortable with a part of their body that they go and hack it off... Weird.
Anyway, I digress.

As I sit here in my Los Angeles hotel room, with the air-con cranked to 60ºF to help fend off the humidity from outside, I look back at the last 30-something hours. The first stepping stone in what I hope will eventually resemble a six lane highway.

Overall this first day turned out pretty good. Apart from being interrogated by Bazriditch, or Bazridick (Baz Luhrmann?), a gun wielding, ex Special Forces customs officer that was very interested in how Laura and I knew each other, and where exactly we are planning on travelling to in these here United States.

We find ourselves driving a brand new Buick Lacrosse! Not only does it have enough grunt to fend off any mental L.A driver on their insane freeways, but we looked pretty damn Gucci pulling up outside Yves Saint Laurent on Rodeo Drive.

Since this is the first post I have done I will spare myself the hassle of trying to sign off properly. I am sure a natural writing style will emerge. Until then fair reader, I bid you adieu.
